Shooting & Stalking
Stalking is available in season, primarily for roe deer on the Estate, by prior appointment.
The Ardmaddy Shoot has been successfully organised by the family-led syndicate for many years as an important winter-time activity that gets lots of the local community together. Our ethos is firmly focused on quality not quantity and therefore making the sport as wild as possible, as we believe a good day out is about truly memorable sport in beautiful surroundings, taking advantage of the natural topography, with a delicious lunch and great company. We were pleased to be recognised for this when listed in the top 25 shoots of Scotland by the Scottish Field.
Ardmaddy also hosts the local clay pigeon club and private days can be arranged if booked well in advance.
There are some opportunities to rent driven and walked up days at Ardmaddy during the season (October to January). There are also some other excellent shoots locally including on Luing and Seil Island that could be arranged as part of a sporting package, if booked well in advance.
Accommodation is also available as part of a sporting package. One option is to stay in Caddleton Farmhouse (sleeps 12 people) and the Stables (sleeps 8) if more beds are required, as the two houses are situated within walking distance of each other. A party of 16 can gather around the large extendable dining table in Caddleton. Catering options can be arranged if required.
A premium package including the Castle (sleeps 12) on a fully-catered basis can also be arranged.
